Here's what I (shouldn't have) purchased this week fabric-wise.
Cutting mat from Walmart's clearance section, only $22!!
JoAnn remnants $4.50 for both, almost 1.5 yards total
Sweet pink with cherries, cartoon cats (not that I'm a cat lady, my dad is a veterinarian)
Quilt shop in Missouri somewhere $6.50 for 1/2 yard of each
Urban Garden by Erin McMorris for Free Spirit
Peacock by Allison Jane Smith for Windham Fabrics
Scrap bag from a quilt store in OKC, only $2!
Ok, no more until my first paycheck! Will I be able to make it 2 whole weeks??

Another quilt top added to the please-quilt-me-someday pile
Another week, another quilt top! I've been pondering why I make so many, since I don't feel like giving any away to people and haven't been very successful selling them. They keep piling up and make a perfect cat bed for Carlton.
Here's my Hunky Dory quilt top using the Bubblegum pattern from Two from One Jelly Roll Quilts by Pam and Nicky Lintott. I apologize for the photos, for some reason it turned out really dim/dingy but IRL it's so bright and precious! I think I'm adding borders to this once my head stops spinning for moving/arranging/reorganizing/etc.
Want another WIP? How about my mess of a craft room in my new condo? It'll take me some time to sort through all this mess. Know anyone that wants to buy a couch? It has to go if I'm going to make way for the PB inspired dream craft table :D
Completed tops needing backings & quilting:

Triple Irish Chain Quilt Progress
I'm making some progress on quilty things this week since I'm still on vacation :D
Just this afternoon I finished pin basting my Moda Bake Shop Triple Irish Chain quilt using Snippets as the front and some DS Quilts backing. I really like the combo and think it'll turn out great. I'm planning to use the blue and green polka dots from her line for the binding.
Sorry for the short post today, but lots to do while packing for the final big move from my parent's house to Texas!

Me, a quilting coach??
I'm staying at my parents' house for a few weeks until my new job starts in August. I made sure to bring Frannie (my sewing machine) with me so I wouldn't be bored :D
Yesterday my mom and I went shopping for fabric to make her very first quilt! Very exciting. We picked the X-rated pattern using charm squares from the Schnibbles Times Two book by Carrie Nelson. At the last quilt show I went to, I bought a couple Central Park charm squares for my mom because we are both totally in love with it! We finished cutting out all the *teeny* pieces, laid them out, and started sewing some of the rows together before bedtime. I'm trying to teach her how to do it herself, so I'm doing my best to not sew or cut or iron anything for her! Here's her progress.
So to keep myself busy while she's working on that, I found a Snippets honey bun under layers of dust at the quilt store to make the Moda Bake Shop Triple Irish Chain quilt. I just love the little paper doll type fabric, but I think with that pattern and the squares finishing at 1" it's not the greatest way to showcase that particular print. I'm still really happy with the way it's progressing.
Hopefully we'll have finished quilt tops by the end of the day today!

Work in Progress Wednesday
Well folks, I'm all moved into my new condo in Dallas :D Boxes aren't unpacked yet because I moved in then promptly came back to spend time with my fam.
Here's what's next on the cutting board. Awhile back I made the Vintage Ribbons Table Runner from Moda Bake Shop using Michael Miller Antiquity, crown, and fairy frost fabrics in blues. Here it is. I took all my quilts in to work last week to show off what I'd made and a co-worker was so excited about it that she bought it from me! I wasn't too sad to see it go, because now I can make one in purple, which is what I really wanted in the first place :P So here's my stack of fabric that I have to cut out and whip up another table runner with in the next few weeks.
Happy sewing!
